Greetings from the Sierra Nevada Mountains!
January has extended a tranquil embrace, and I am finding comfort in rediscovering the joy of living in the mountains again. Last year, at this time, I was living in the Sacramento wetland area, and the absence of the mountains was profound. ( I penned a few words about it here.) I have spent more than twenty-five years of my adult life living in the mountains, and I missed the grand seasonal that living in the mountains provides. Significant changes in weather provide a feeling of balance and keep me interested in life.
Perhaps it is the wanderer in me that constantly craves change.
In retrospect, I suppose it was inevitable that a return to the snowy mountains would happen. Although not much snow has fallen this year, the vibrant hum of nature compensates for the lack of snow.
I am taking my annual hiatus this January to connect with my creativity and reflect on the past year. Please revisit my previous posts and stay tuned for upcoming inspiring travel content in the next year, including travel itineraries that are close to my heart and a sneak peek or two from the pages of my book.
This life is to wander.
Enjoy,
— M
