About/Bio

I’m Michelle or Just M-

I am a travel essayist/writer and photographer who does not send out newsletters, although I am considering creating a Substack at the moment.

Despite an indifference towards grammatical structure and rules, I have been writing since I learned how to hold a pencil. —Most writing, for me anyway, is composed and created in the brain from stacking words, so many WORDs, in exceptionally creative ways.

When I am not writing content for this website, I am pitching articles or writing my book. (Yes, of course, I am looking for a publisher.)

In my past life, I have rocked teaching fourth- and sixth-grade ESL students how to write, and I felt extreme excitement teaching many first-graders how to read. I have also dabbled in wedding photography, sold cameras, and taught photography.

I call Truckee, California home, when I am not in Italy, France, Ireland, or . . .

If you are here to read about travel:

Without shame, I am continuously endeavoring to inspire others to travel. Creating a website to share personal anecdotes, reflections, and photographs about travel and the life that happens in between (and during, too.) seemed inevitable.

If you are here to discover a freelance writer:

I have a significant amount of writing experience, but most of my published writing work has been published as a ghostwriter or on a blog that has disappeared. Additionally, I have donated a good bit of my word crafting to a non-profit for which I volunteered. Regardless, obviously, I have proven my ability to write; if you are looking for a freelance writer, I am available— Though I prefer writing about all things travel, I am up for any genera tossed my way.

No matter who you are, I hope you find the stories and photographs on this website interesting. Mostly, I hope they inspire and compel you to travel slowly & live beautifully.

This life is to wander,

-M
